  3. I'm pleased to announce a new release of the UCI version of
  4. the RAND MH Message Handling System.  The current release is
  5.  
  6.       MH 6.8
  7.  
  8. Here are the details:
  9.  
  10.     - MH is in the public-domain
  11.     - MH runs on a number of versions of UNIX (4.[123]BSD, V7,
  12.       SYS5, and related variants, e.g., SVR4, HPUX)
  13.     - MH runs on top of a number of mail transport systems
  14.       (MMDF-{I,II}, SendMail, stand-alone (with UUCP support))
  15.  
  16. Although MH is not "supported" per se, it does have a
  17. bug-reporting address, Bug-MH@ICS.UCI.EDU (ucbvax!ucivax!bug-mh).
  18. Bug reports (and fixes) are welcome, by the way.  There are also
  19. two Internet discussion groups:  MH-Users@ICS.UCI.EDU and
  20. MH-Workers@ICS.UCI.EDU.  MH-Users is bi-directionally gatewayed
  21. to USENET as comp.mail.mh.

  25. mh-6.8.tar.Z        A tar of the MH 6.8 distribution after being run
  26.             through compress.  Be sure to use binary mode with FTP.
  27.             This is the latest version of MH.  No patches should
  28.             need to be applied to this distribution.

  31. ---- DOCUMENTATION ----

  33. doc/changes.doc     A formatted document describing the changes made
  34.             from MH 6.6 to the current MH 6.8 release.

  36. If you're retrieving MH using FTP, you won't get hardcopies of the
  37. documentation set.  Some MH papers are designed to be formatted with
  38. the TeX typesetting system.  For those sites who do not have access to
  39. TeX, these papers have been converted to postscript.  For sites without
  40. a laser printer, crude tty-conversions of these papers are also
  41. available.  See the "doc" subdirectory for formatted copies of the MH
  42. documents.
